J block is about to undergo and significant refurbishment. Commencing mid-September, our goal is to make J Block a vibrant and attractive precinct for Secondary students and staff to support learning and foster a sense of community.
We are reconfiguring five general learning classrooms to optimise space and functionality. The redesigned layout will offer a more conducive learning environment, fostering engagement and collaboration.
We’re installing new windows and glass doors on the east side of the building to provide the classrooms with natural light, creating a brighter and more inviting atmosphere.
To enrich the student experience during recess and lunch, we’re building a new covered space on the eastern side of J Block. This area will lead directly to the school oval, providing a spacious and sheltered spot for Secondary students to relax and socialise.
We’re addressing the current issues with cramped locker rooms for Year 8 and Year 9 students. The refurbishment will create a more functional and comfortable space for students to store their belongings across two levels.
The entire colorbond roof of J Block is being replaced. This crucial upgrade will ensure the building’s durability and improve its overall aesthetic appeal.
We understand that construction can raise concerns, particularly with important events like the HSC exams. Rest assured, we are taking every precaution to minimise any disruptions:
Our aim is to ensure a smooth transition and maintain a conducive learning environment throughout the refurbishment. We appreciate your understanding and support as we work to enhance J Block for the future.
Pray for the safety of students, staff and contractors throughout this period.
