Music in Junior School
For passionate musicians in the Junior School, there are plenty of opportunities within our Co-Curricular program.
Junior Concert Band and Junior String Ensemble are open to musicians who have been playing their instrument for more than six months and receive regular private instrument tuition. The Junior Band and String Ensemble enjoy a number of opportunities to perform throughout the year, including our annual Evening of Music.
Weekend workshops enable our students to work in small groups with specialised instrumental tutors to finesse their individual skills. Students then come back together and rehearse with the rest of the band, showcasing their newly practised skills.
Junior Choir provides an opportunity for our budding singers to sing a variety of musical styles together.
Students in Year 6 have the opportunity of joining the Worship Band. The Worship Band plays their instruments at Primary Assembly whilst the school sings praise to God. This an opportunity for our students to serve God and their fellow students with their musical gifts.
Every second year, all our students are involved in our Junior School Musical. Students learn to work together, express their gifts and bring great joy to their audiences. Every student is involved, with students in Years 5 and 6 having opportunities to audition for singing and acting roles.
Music in Secondary School
For our passionate musicians in Secondary School, there are numerous ways to be involved. Students are invited to join our Secondary String Ensemble, Senior Concert Band, Vocal Ensemble or Guitar Ensemble.
The annual Music Tour provides a wonderful opportunity for our students to perform in front of a variety of audiences and share their musical gifts with our community.
Our Assembly Band has the privilege of leading our school in singing praises to God during our assemblies.
Our annual Evening of Music is one of the highlights of the school calendar. Widely attended by past students, family and friends, our bands and ensembles always deliver remarkable performances.
Our students have the opportunity to be part of the Secondary School Musical every second year. Past musicals have included the Wizard of Oz, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang and the Little Mermaid. In 2023, our students will be performing The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe.
Our students are invited to perform at a variety of school functions, showcasing their talents and musical gifts.
Private Music Tuition
Private music tuition and instrument hire is also available for interested students. Private lessons are provided on school premises by an outstanding group of music tutors.
Students can receive tuition in brass, cello, clarinet, saxophone, drum kit, flute, guitar, bass guitar, piano, violin and voice.
